I am the stay-at-home mom of two little kids who are 18 months apart in age. Red is a fiery, high energy two year old who is constantly on the go and Ace is a sweet nine month old little guy who always has a smile on his face. They are awesome. They are wonderful. They are the reason I get up every morning (and sometimes several times a night). They are two of the most important things in my life.
They make me very, very tired.

Red on the go |
I am by no means a parenting expert, but I am picking up tips and tricks that help our family survive the good and bad times. Let's be honest: even on great days, kids are
exhausting. I don't know how they keep playing and running and jumping and singing and eating and moving all day without wanting a break. It wears me out just watching Red bounce out of bed with her endless energy and, very often, I'm ready for a nap before the day has even begun. I have found, however, that hobbies keep the tiredness and stress somewhat at bay, so I've made it a point to incorporate them into my life. Cooking is one such hobby, and writing is another. While cooking is a new(er) hobby that I honestly never thought I'd get into, writing has always been near and dear to my heart. I'm hoping to not only have this blog be an outlet for me to escape to, but to have it be a place where others can find a little bit of humor, experience some parenting honesty, and have things they connect with on a personal level.
Now, forgive me as I go attempt to straighten the disaster that is my living room before the children wake up from their naps. I always like to have a couple minutes of empty floors to walk on before Red escapes from her room to be the tiny tornado she is. Oh wait, I hear her walking down the hallway. Oh well, the floors will be clean one day. Today, though, we're making messes. And memories.
